At The PsychologySmith, I believe in the power of resilience, self-compassion, and empowerment. Together, we'll work towards developing coping strategies, creating self-care, and reclaiming a sense of control over your life. As a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based therapy to individuals seeking support on their journey towards healing and personal growth. |
I understand the profound impact that chronic health conditions can have on mental health and overall wellbeing, and I bring a unique perspective shaped by my own journey with chronic illness. With personal experience managing chronic and invisible conditions, including autoimmune and gastrointestinal challenges, I know how deeply these struggles can affect every part of life, from physical symptoms to emotional resilience. It’s been a journey full of ups and downs: managing symptoms, navigating endless appointments, and carrying the emotional weight of uncertainty. Through it all, I’ve come to truly understand the deep connection between body and mind. I've developed a deep empathy and understanding for individuals facing similar struggles. My experience has driven my dedication to psychology and it's what drives my commitment to providing care that’s compassionate, human, and holistic.
I have a special interest in ADHD, chronic pain, gastrointestinal disorders, and trauma. Specialising in evidence-based psychological therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and mindfulness and relaxation-based approaches, I work with individuals to address a range of psychological challenges. Whether you're coping with pain, fatigue, anxiety, ADHD, or adjusting to a new diagnosis or life difficulty, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for exploration and healing. I take a collaborative, client-centred approach, creating personalised treatment plans that reflect each person’s unique needs and goals. My aim is to empower clients to gain insight, build effective coping strategies, and develop resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
