At The PsychologySmith, I believe in the power of resilience, self-compassion, and empowerment. Together, we'll work towards developing coping strategies, fostering self-care, and reclaiming a sense of control over your life. As a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based therapy to individuals seeking support on their journey towards healing and personal growth. |
I understand the profound impact that chronic health conditions can have on mental health and overall wellbeing and I bring a unique perspective shaped by my personal journey with a chronic health condition. Living with SLE Lupus, Fibromyalgia and IBS, I have navigated and understand the interplay between physical and mental wellbeing. The journey has been filled with its share of ups and downs, from managing symptoms and medical appointments to grappling with the emotional toll of uncertainty and limitations.Through these challenges, I've developed a deep empathy and understanding for individuals facing similar struggles. My experience has driven my dedication to psychology and my commitment to providing compassionate, holistic care for those facing chronic health conditions.
Specialising in CBT, Compassion-focussed therapy, ACT, EMDR, and mindfulness and relaxation-based approaches, I work with individuals to address the unique psychological challenges associated with chronic illness. Whether you're coping with pain, fatigue, anxiety, ADHD, or adjusting to life with a new diagnosis or difficulty, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for exploration and healing. I take a collaborative, client-centred approach, working with each individual to create personalised treatment plans that meet their unique needs and goals. My aim is to empower clients to gain insight, build effective coping strategies, and develop resilience in facing life's challenges.
